Our Office
We are pleased that you have chosen us as your eye care specialist. Thank you for taking the time to learn about our policies and procedures.
OFFICE HOURS
Except for emergencies, all visits are by appointment. Please call to make an appointment.
Phone Number: 843-884-2015
We will make every effort to honor the scheduled time for your appointment, but occasionally, emergencies or unexpected situations may delay us. We regret the inconvenience this may cause. We feel that your time is as valuable as ours. Not all office visits with the doctor include a prescription check. In the event you would require one, we would schedule an appointment for you when you check out. Please call if you are delayed or are unable to keep your appointment. If you are unable to keep your appointment, we ask that you kindly provide us with at least 24 hours notice. This courtesy on your part will make it possible to give your appointment to another patient.
PHONE CALLS
During office hours, phones will be answered by our receptionists. It is important that you give as much information as possible to the receptionist answering your call. If there is a problem you need to discuss with the doctor, he will get back to you as soon as possible.
AFTER HOURS AND WEEKENDS
In an emergency, call us anytime. If the office is closed, you will reach our answering service, and they will contact the physician that is on call. Please do not call during these times to ask nonemergent questions. These can be best handled during regular office hours.
Phone Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-11:45am and 1:00pm-5:00pm
CHARGES, BILLING, AND INSURANCE
When you come to the office, please bring your insurance identification cards. It is our policy to request your co-pay or payment in full for services not covered by insurance at the time of your visit. We Accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover Card., MasterCard, and Discover. If you anticipate a large bill or are having financial difficulties, please let us know so that a monthly payment can be arranged.
MEDICATION AND REFILLS
If you use prescribed medications, please take time to understand the name of the medication and how often to use them. If you think you are experiencing side effects, please call the office. Plan ahead to make sure you don't run out of medication at night or on weekends. After instilling eye drops, wait one to two minutes with your eyes closed, then wipe your eyes. If you are instilling more than one eye drop, wait 10 minutes in between, so the medication does not wash each other away. As a general rule, an eye drop that burns should be the last to go in.
DILATION
Sometimes, it is necessary to dilate the eyes to complete the eye exam. Plan on bringing a pair of sunglasses as your eyes will be sensitive to light if they are dilated. Please ask the office for disposable sunglasses in the event you don't bring yours.
